The 5th annual ART OF RECOVERY: THE HUMAN JOURNEY show is now over and we are already looking forward to next year's show, which will open on November 7, 2012.

This event showcases the journey of recovery through art. Whether it’s mental illness, substance abuse, grief, loss, domestic violence, divorce, physical illness, we all have struggles sometimes. Some of the pieces are by professional artists and many of the artists participating just use the process of making art to express their feelings and will show their work publicly for the first time here.

What artists in this show all have in common is they are people, just like us, who are recovering or have recovered from something… celebrating the resiliency and healing power of people.

Many thanks to Mike Curths at the Inside Out Gallery for graciously hosting the show and providing space in the gallery for a whole month.

Artists may pick up their work from the Northern Lakes CMH office, 105 Hall Street, Traverse City on December 1, 2011. Go to the reception desk on the second floor. People who receive services from the Cadillac, Houghton Lake or Grayling Northern Lakes CMH offices may pick up their work from their local CMH office after December 2.
