We are pleased to announce that the 2nd annual ART OF RECOVERY: THE HUMAN JOURNEY show will be held at the Inside Out Gallery at 228 Garland Street in Traverse City.
- Deadline to submit art is November 3, 2008.
- The show runs from November 12 to December 18, 2008.
- A public reception with refreshments and music will be held on Wednesday, November 19 from 3 to 7:00 p.m.
This month-long show recognizes that everyone recovers from something during their lives — it’s part of the Human Journey.
Whether it’s mental illness, substance abuse, grief, loss, domestic violence, divorce, physical illness, we all have struggles sometimes. Recovering from such issues in life can take time and work. This event showcases the journey of recovery through art.
Anyone from northern Michigan who is recovering or has recovered from anything is eligible to submit art from the show.
No entry fee is required. You may submit up to three (3) original two- or three-dimensional art works that you created, or up to 10 small pieces, such as jewelry. All art must be submitted by the artist. Number of entries displayed may be limited by available space. Works requiring hanging must be in good condition, matted or framed, and suitably wired for display.
Art must be submitted with an Entry Form by November 3, 2008 during normal business hours to the Northern Lakes Community Mental Health office at 105 Hall Street in Traverse City (see Receptionist on second floor). No art will be accepted after November 3.
