As we have throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, NLCMHA offices remain open and we continue to provide services. However, we have changed how those services are delivered to help limit the spread of the coronavirus (COVID-19). Most of our staff continues to work off-site and provide services and support by telephone and video as much as possible and, when clinically or medically indicated, with a face-to-face visit.
We are beginning to open regular services in our office buildings. People requesting entry to our offices will be required to participate in a health screening. This is helping to limit the spread of the virus and to keep you and our staff safe.
In addition, we subscribe to the evidence-based myStrength health and wellness online resource as a benefit for the community. Anyone can sign up for a free account HERE. There is a robust stress reduction program available for everyone there!
Before you come to the office for your appointment, please call ahead and see if you may be able to be served by phone or video instead.
If you do need to come to the office, please know that we are doing everything we can to keep our spaces sanitized. Our offices are being cleaned daily. Rooms where people meet with our staff are cleaned between each use.
If you have symptoms of the virus, please do not come to the office.
- If you have symptoms, such as fever, shortness of breath, cough, sore throat, or have had contact in the past 14 days with a confirmed case of COVID-19, please call your health care provider to make the best decisions for yourself and your family and call us for your mental health support.
- If the NLCMHA Integrated Health Clinic is your health care provider, then call ahead at 231-935-3062 for more instructions.
- If you do not have a health care provider, please call your local health department or emergency department. There is also a Munson Healthcare COVID-19 Hotline with current status at Munson Healthcare locations at 231-935-0951.
Clubhouses and Drop-In Centers
Clubhouses and Drop-in Centers are open on a very limited basis. For current details, please contact them directly. Virtual and telephone outreach continue.
In-Person Trainings suspended
In-Person training is suspended at this time but training is on-going. Please refer to “Trainings” for how to register for virtual training and Read, Review and Test.
State of Michigan COVID-19 Hotline & Peer Warmline
- State Hotline – for health-related questions about COVID-19 and to direct people to the right resources in their local communities and other state government departments.
Call 1-888-533-6136. from 8 A.M. to 5 P.M. seven days a week.
- MDHHS launched a “warmline” operated by Certified Peer Support Specialists to aid persons with mental health needs during the COVID-19 pandemic. The warmline operates seven days a week from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m., at 888-PEER-753 (888-733-7753). Individuals calling the warmline will be provided with support by peers who have their own lived experience with mental health issues.

Our leadership team at NLCMHA meets regularly to assess this rapidly-changing situation and makes adjustments as needed. Please practice compassion and join us in taking care of yourself. Stay calm, keep up good hygiene and practice social distancing of six feet. Get enough sleep, drink fluids, etc. The healthier we are the easier it is for our immune system to do its job.
