NLCMH Selects New CEO

The Northern Lakes Community Mental Health (NLCMH) Board of Directors, at its October 16, 2014 Board of Directors meeting, unanimously selected Karl Kovacs to be its new Chief Executive Officer subject to final negotiations. “Karl is an outstanding choice and the board is very pleased to have Karl become our new Chief Executive Officer,” said NLCMHA board chairperson Al Cambridge.

Cambridge shared that the board of directors began its search following current NLCMHA CEO Greg Paffhouse’s spring 2014 announcement of his planned 2015 retirement. A Search Committee was seated, chaired by board member Dean Vivian, to conduct the search for the new CEO. Seventy-five applicants were received and the Search Committee interviewed seven candidates. A special board meeting was held on October 14, 2014 to interview the final two candidates. Cambridge expressed appreciation to the Search Committee for its excellent work and the excellent leadership provided by Vivian.

A transition plan will be developed subject to the completion of Mr. Kovacs’ contract to promote a seamless leadership transition.
