Suttons Bay High School Student Public Service Announcements

Students from Suttons Bay High School created two 30-second Public Service Announcements (PSAs) to help raise awareness about mental health issues as part of the Northern Lakes CMH Anti-Stigma federal block grant.

The PSAs build upon the national "What A Difference A Friend Makes" campaign developed by the Ad Council and the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

The Suttons Bay students received input from young people we serve who volunteered their time to act as consultants to help fight stigma. These young people participated in frank discussions about what it is like to deal with mental health issues and courageously shared their experiences with the young people in Suttons Bay.

Many thanks to Suttons Bay Public Schools for supporting this worthwhile project.

Both PSAs are designed to communicate that mental illnesses do not discriminate and are more common than you would think. Just click to watch them!
