NLCMH Movie – To See What I See: The Stigma of Mental Illness
We are very proud of the documentary featuring our "Stigma Busters," called, To See What I See: The Stigma of Mental Illness.
This 20-minute movie chronicles the creation of the first photobiographies at Northern Lakes.(Photobiographies are personal recovery stories created by people with experience with mental illness, illustrated with photography by the individuals.)
In the movie, individuals share their experiences and opinions on prejudice, stereotypes, and discrimination associated with having a mental illness.
They also share their important message of great hope – that recovery from a mental illness is not only possible, but should be expected.
Check out the movie category in our Virtual Recovery Center for more information on this film. In the Virtual Recovery Center you will also find more information on recovery in general.
