Northern Lakes Community Mental Health (NLCMH) is launching a new Virtual Recovery Center “blog” on its redesigned Web site on October 1, and YOU have found it!

Each day for the month of October, a personal recovery story will be added in recognition of National Mental Illness Awareness Month. The stories by real people who live in northern Michigan include words and images created using disposable cameras in a “photobiography” project funded by a federal anti-stigma block grant administered by the Michigan Department of Community Health.

Over the next year this Virtual Recovery Center area will expand to include a variety of recovery resources for persons with mental illness. It will also contain resources to help mental health professionals and others in our efforts to transform our system of care to one based on the expectation of recovery.
