Wexford Missaukee Community Collaborative

Human Services Leadership Council of MISSAUKEE & WEXFORD COUNTIES

A State of Michigan “Community Collaborative”

The Human Services Leadership Council of Missaukee and Wexford Counties is a Community Collaborative body of human service leaders who work together through collaboration (sharing responsibilities, risks, resources and rewards) to accomplish together what one agency alone could never accomplish. The social problems we address are huge and systemic. And only by combining our efforts, learning to trust one another and applying our diversity to the problems, are we able to bring about the needed changes for better living in Wexford and Missaukee Counties.

There is an old saying that goes, “It’s not what you do, it’s who you know.” In our community, we are happy to say that both are true. We do a lot but we do it through those whom we know and trust and share our passion for a healthy community.

HSLC GOALS for 2010-2011

  1. Complete the Trauma Informed Community Initiative and take action on bringing the service of Child Trauma Assessment Services to Wexford and Missaukee Counties.

  3. Promote better physical health through the Pioneering Healthy Communities efforts and the Cadillac Area Health Coalition.
  4. Further establish the Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee as a force to contend with in promoting a collaborative spirit in governmental cooperation.
